2012 NJ Rumble FTC Championship

We visited NJIT in Newark, NJ on February 13, 2012 to compete in the NJ Rumblew FTC Championship. The highlight of our day was finishing second in the PTC Design Award and the Innovate Award.  We were also in the finalist alliance in our division.

During the qualifying rounds, we finished 4-1, finished 6th in our division and was selected by the 3rd Alliance Captain.  We won our semi-finals, but lost 2-1 in the finals.  Perhaps our best game was during a qualifying match when we stacked 5 crates (look for it below)!

FIRST FTC Team 4185 visits North Coventry Fun Fair - signs up FLL Team!

Team 4185 would like to thank the North Coventry PTA for allowing us to be a part of the North Coventry Elementary School on Friday, May 20th.  Our goals were to interest students in robotics and the FIRST Lego League (FLL) - and we were successful in both!
We had a corner of the room where we allowed students to drive our robot, The Titanium Tank.  We also featured a video display of this year's challenge, Get Over It, to help explain the game.  Instead of regular game pieces, we loaded our robot with candy bars for students to launch.  We also demo'ed Makerbot, a 3D printer, which can manufacture team-designed objects.
We are most excited about having so many students (and a teacher!) indicate interest in forming an FLL team!  4185 will work to help this new team be successful their rookie year!
